Magna Carta
As a spin-off from the J&T newsletter I, along with guest contributors, are putting together a set of concise pocket-size booklets that distil the information we have gleaned from reading (see Library), research, attending lectures etc. and presenting it in a non-academic style to give you the up-to-date essence of the subject.

Handbook No.1 is on Magna Carta and was published at the beginning of March. It is fully illustrated and comprises 24 pages in all. For those who like the technical stuff it is printed on 130gsm silk covered paper stock with the cover on 250 gsm silk cover lamination. It is A5 size, stapled and packed in an outer postal envelope. The typeface is Proxima Nova 12pt.

The Spire & The Storm
Handbook No. 2 is on The Spire & The Storm and is due to be published in mid-April. It is fully illustrated and comprises 16 pages in all.

The price is £5.90 if posted but just £3.60 if collected from the Cathedral. A sample copy will be available to view in the Cathedral. We had to guess the uptake for the first handbook and so this price reflects the actual cost.

Head Tower Guide, Ian Wheeler, experiencing the storms earlier this year decided to research the worst weather the Spire had endured. He also wanted to correct the misconception of the date and purpose of the internal timber scaffolding. It is well-researched but still makes a 'good read'.
